The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is currently mired in controversy as another memo reportedly issued by Pastor J.F Odesola, Assistant General Overseer (Admin/Personnel) has caused ‘wahala’ online.
In the memo, Pastor Odesola writes that the leadership of the church has noticed certain loose practices have been adapted in the practice of conducting weddings in the church.
As a result, new rules have been laid down. Examples of the rules include official ministers must appear in formal attires. Choir members and ushers must also be dressed formally.
Ministers must also checkout the bride’s wedding gown as well as the dress of the bridesmaids. According to the memo, the dresses must not compromise the standard of the church.
The part of the memo that has caused controversy is the part that says men with Taliban beards must not be allowed to be members of the groomsmen as their appearance is against the doctrines of the church.
See the memo below:
However, the authenticity of the memo cannot be readily confirmed by NAIJ.com as the RCCG has not reacted to it.
This is coming after a memo reportedly emerged saying intending couples who want to get married must submit evidence of genit*l tests.
