- Rohr says he already knows 20 players for the Russia 2018 World Cup
- The Super Eagles coach says he will release the final three in coming days
- Nigeria will play the DR Congo, England, and the Czech Republic
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has revealed he knows 20 of the 23 players who will represent Nigeria at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
As it stands, all players are in camp Uyo and have been undergoing series of training sessions at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The German tactician told journalists how the final three men will be selected in the course of the coming days.
Gernot Rohr: “I have in my head 20 of the 23 players going to #Russia2018. Only 25 players will travel to England. The final list will be after the England match”
The technical adviser also said he would only allow wives and girlfriends of players in the camp.
“We welcome the wives & girlfriends. But NOT ‘professionals’ who want to give special massage to players.” Rohr told KweseFootball.
The Super Eagles will take on the Democratic Republic of Congo in Port Harcourt on Monday, May, 28, after which the final 23-man squad will be announced.
The team will proceed to London to honour the friendly match against England at the famous Wembley Stadium on June, 2.
The Green and White will also play a final warm up game against the Czech Republic on June, 6, before the World Cup kicks off proper.
Gernot Rohr's men will play in Group D alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in a group many pundits said would spring upsets.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported Wilfred Ndidi assured Nigerians he would be fit to play for the Super Eagles World Cup.
