The Super Eagles of Nigeria were forced to 1-1 draw by the Democratic Republic of Congo in a match played at the Adokie Amesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
William Troost-Ekong scored his ever goal for Nigeria in the first half as he pounced on a defensive error from the Congolese defence to put the score at 1-0.
DR Congo's equalized from a penalty as Ola Aina tugged the shirt of Kazadi in the box. The resulting spot kick was converted as Francis Uzoho was sent the wrong way.
The Nigerian side were lackluster on the night as they failed to create chances in the final third. It ended one a-piece as the team will be heading to London to play England in a few days.
Debutants, Simeon Nwankwo and Junior Lokosa, gave good accounts of the themselves in the course of the match.
Both sides were not able to hold supremacy in the match as possession were needlessly won and lost in the pre-World Cup friendly.
A mistake from the Congolese defence finally led to a goal as Buraspor defender Troost-Ekong took advantage of sloppy defending from their opponents back line.
Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe also had a chance saved by Uzoho as he was given time and space to shoot from close range but the Eagles number one was on hand to save with his leg.
Gernot Rohr's side finished the half with one-goal advantage but did not really give want the fans expected of them.
A couple of changes were made at the restart as the three-time African champions were the livelier of the two.
But, it was the visitors that had the laugh as they won a penalty in 77th minute of the match as Kalape buried the ball into Uzoho's left-hand corner.
Nigeria will take on England on June, 2, at the Wembley Stadium and travel to Austria to play the Czech Republic in their final warm up game on June, 6.
Gernot Rohr said before the match that the final 23-man list will be announced after the two friendlies against the European sides.
The Green and White will take on Croatia, Argentina and Iceland in Group D when the Mundial kicks off on June, 14.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be hosting the Democratic Republic of Congo today, Monday, May 28, in Port Harcourt in preparation for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The team have been camped in Uyo, training at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium for the final phase as Gernot Rohr and his technical crew are working tirelessly to ensure players get into shape for the upcoming matches.
After the DR Congo friendly, the Super Eagles will proceed to London to play England after which the German coach will announce his final 23-man squad that will play at the World Cup.
For the first time, the 23-man squad will take on the Czech Republic on June, 6, before setting out to Russia to prepare for their first match against Croatia on June, 16.
Nigeria will be making their sixth participation at the Russia 2018 soccer fiesta they have been grouped alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in Group D.
The last time Nigeria and DR Congo met was also in an international friendly match in which the Super Eagles won 5-2.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that technical Adviser Gernot Rohr released his 30-man provisional list for the Mundial.
As expected, John Obi Mikel, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho are in the list, but Brown Ideye was left out of the squad.
