Champions League runners up Liverpool have agreed to sign Brazil international Fabinho when the summer transfer window opens in July.
The 24-year-old will join the Premier League side in a deal worth €45 million from French League side Monaco on July 1st.
According to information on the club’s official website, the Brazilian has already completed medicals and will finalise his long term deal with the Anfield side in a couple of days.
Fabinho is a defender but can also be fielded in the defensive midfield role, and he was superb for the Ligue 1 side during his three-year reign at the club.
Reacting to his new move to the English topflight, Fabinho said he was delighted to join the club, saying Liverpool are one of the giant clubs in the EPL.
He added that he didn’t have to think twice when he heard about their interest in him, and vows to make his impact felt during his stay at Anfield.
“I am really excited about this move," Fabinho told Liverpool website.
“This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional.
“A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t have to think that much about coming over.
“I will try to create my own history at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles with this club. “I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be part of the club’s history.”
Fabinho started his senior career at a Portuguese topflight side Rio Ave in 2012, but didn’t have the opportunity to kick a ball for them as he was sent on a season long loan deal to Real Madrid team B.
Having spent just one season on loan at the club, scoring two goals in 30 appearances, he was then shipped out to Monaco on loan in 2013.
He spent two seasons on loan at the club appearing for them 62 times and scoring just once in the process before making his loan deal permanent in 2015.
Since then, he has been superb for the team - making 225 appearances and with 29 goals credited to him in all five seasons he spent at the club.

The Red Devils planned to offer a sum £45 million bid for the 24-year-old Brazilian player who can play as a right full back and also as a defensive midfielder.
