Ekiti election: Fayemi allegedly resigns as minister

Ahead of the 2018 gubernatorial election in Ekiti state, governorship aspirant, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has reportedly resigned from his position as the minister of mines and steel.

Fayemi reportedly tendered his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari three weeks ago, but it officially takes effect from Wednesday, May 30, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.

Recall that Fayemi became the All Progressives Congress (APC) sole candidate after winning a rescheduled primary election on May 12, 2018.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, urged former governor, Kayode Fayemi, to stop bragging about the use of federal might to win the July 14 governorship election adding that God’s might is bigger than all.

Fayose described Fayemi, he current minister of solid minerals, a failure for not being able to attract one federal project to the state after almost three years in office.

In a statement by the governor’s chief press secretary, Idowu Adelusi, he quoted the governor as saying that the choice of Kolapo Olusola Eleka as the PDP governorship candidate and Ogunsakin as his deputy, was divine.
