The Nigerian Army has assured that there were ongoing military operations to rescue Leah Sharibu, the remaining Dapchi schoolgirl in Boko Haram captivity.
The army's deputy chief of policy and plans, Major General Attahiru Ibrahim, who stated this on Wednesday, May 30, said that the operations also include rescue of the Chibok girls, Punch reports.

Legit.ng notes that Ibrahim said that Sharibu and the remaining Chibok schoolgirls would be reunited with their family members “very soon".
He said: “We are going to have them back. I can assure you about that. There are a whole lot of non-kinetic operations that are ongoing. The government is also making tremendous efforts on not only Leah Sharibu, but other Chibok girls. Very soon, they will be joining their families. I am very optimistic about that.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Leah Sharibu, the remaining Dapchi schoolgirl still in Boko Haram captivity on Monday May 14, marked her 15th birthday in the custody of her captors.
When the Boko Haram insurgents released 105 abducted Dapchi girls, Leah Sharibu, who would have been the 106th girl to be freed, was left behind for reportedly refusing to denounce her Christian faith.
He father, Sharibu Nathan, on Sunday evening, May 13, pleaded again with the government to ensure the safe release of his daughter.
