In a recent statement, Makinde asked Ajimobi to mention the benefits his trips abroad to places like UK, US, Middle East and Scandinavian nations have brought for the state since his administration. The governorship aspirant said that going by research, the reverse is the case as most medium and small-scale industries in the state had closed down.

Makinde said that this was due to the unconducive business climate in the last seven years. He also said described the claim that 4000 Oyo natives were employed in 36 firms where N22.46 billion was invested as false.

He said these unfounded claims were made when the locals that should feel the direct impact of such magnitude are wondering if the governor was talking about another state.

Makinde said: “How come that N22.46 billion was infused into the state’s economy and 4000 of our people were employed and government kept quiet either in budgetary conversations, or the numerous fora available to it.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Ajimobi had stated that no other president in the country had managed the nation’s economy better than President Muhammadu Buhari.

The governor spoke in Ibadan on Friday evening, May 4, while receiving members of the National Congress Committee of APC at the Government House.
