- Senator Shehu Sani says APC congresses were supposed to showcase internal democracy in the party
- The lawmaker states that the party’s congresses turned out to be the summation of its trouble
- Nigerians have been urged by Shehu Sani to demand to know the running cost of the president and governors
Senator Shehu Sani has claimed that the Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to hold congresses in the state.
The lawmaker representing Kaduna central senatorial district in the Senate made the claim on Monday, June 4, during an interview on Channels TV.
Sani maintained that while the congresses held in several states were marred with violence, there was no congress at all in Kaduna state.
“What I can say of the APC congresses, is that it is reflective of the realities, the chaos, the troubles, the headaches and the heartaches of the party itself.
“The congresses were supposed to showcase internal democracy. It was also supposed to showcase that the party has come of age and it was determined to set an example and to inspire others to follow but what we have seen was that the congresses turned out to be the summation of its trouble,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shehu Sani has called on Nigerians to demand that the running cost of the president and state governors be publicly disclosed.
He made the call during an appearance on a Channels TV programme, Roadmap to 2019.
