Super Eagles superb traditional attire get fans buzzing

- Three time African champions got the world talking again after unveiling their traditional travel attire to Russia 2018

- The Super Eagles jersey was recently voted the best jersey for the this year's World Cup

- They are also ranked the 19th most expensive squad in all 32 teams participating at the tourney in Russia

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are in the news once again as their travel attire for the 2018 FIFA World Cup has got the social media buzzing.

The three-time African champions were recently ranked 19th most expensive squad going to the tournament which kicks off on Thursday, June 14.

While their jersey ranked the best strip in all the jerseys that will be represented at this summer’s edition of the competition.

Coach Gernot Rohr’s men were dressed in an all-white Buba and Sokoto attire with green embroidery in the pattern of a football on the collars of the white and green outfits.

Meanwhile, Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder John Ogu while posting his picture on his social media handle accompanied it with an inscription saying: “Tell the world we are coming #positivevibesonly #worldcupvibes #eue3 #supereagles @ighalojude @ogu30”

Nigerian international Elderson Echiejile - also of Monaco - wrote on Twitter as they made their way to their Essentuki training base in Southern Russia.

Tianjin TEDA midfielder John Obi Mikel, who is also the captain of the team wrote on Instagram: “Russia here we come”.

The exotic choice of clothing has seen them quickly become a fan-favourite before a ball has even been kicked in Russia and is shown by the response the travel outfit has received on social media.

A fan of the national team said on twitter: “Love the fact you guys aren't going in suit. We are Africans. We dress like one to Russia. Goodluck.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria have not kicked a ball in Russia yet they have already won some accolades as an influential international magazine GQ has voted the Super Eagles jersey as the best of the participating teams for this year’s World Cup tourney.

The three-time African Cup of Nations champions are in the same group as Argentina, Iceland and Croatia as they hope to surpass their second round record in past championships.

Closely following 2013 AFCON champions on the list of best strips heading to the tournament are Croatia and Argentina in the second and third positions respectively.

While south American teams; Peru and five-time World Cup winners Brazil complete the top five best jerseys in the 32 participating teams for this year’s edition of the competition.
