- The Buhari Parliamentary Support Group is receiving more more lawmakers from both chambers of the National Assembly

- The group had been banned by the Senate, but this has not stopped more senators from joining it

More senators and members of the House of Representatives are joining the Buhari Parliamentary Support Group (PSG) despite a ban by Senate president, Bukola Saraki, to prevent them from doing that.

Daily Trust reports that those who initiated the PSG first at the Senate said they floated the group to protect and defend the interest of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group emerged following the passage of a bill in February that sought to change elections sequence in Nigeria, putting the presidential election last.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, colleague, Ovie Omo-Agege, and a host of others rejected the passage of the bill by the Senate and thereafter formed the PSG.

The Senate announced a ban on PSG, saying it would not tolerate the existence of any such group, but this has not stopped more senators from joining the group.
