Popular Nigerian actress Doris Samuel Akonanya has taken to share the story how she shot into the limelight. The actress who is an amputee became popular after she appeared in a movie titled Susanna.
The actress revealed that she became an amputee after she was involved in a motorcycle accident at the age of 13.
Akonanya stated that she never let her disability stop her from making her dreams come true. She expressed that she made sure she got an admission for theatre arts in Nnamdi Azikwe University despite the discouragment she got from people.
She further revealed that her parents always encouraged her to do what she wants and they never saw her as an amputee.
According to her, Nicholas James Vujicic a motivational speaker who has no arms or legs was the one who inspired her.
She also stated that Nigerian movie producer and actor Prince Owelle Ugorj made her dreams come true by accepting her talent to act to the best of her abilities.

The young lady added an educational about disability to her post. She noted that people are differently abled not disabled. She disclosed that she dislikes the word disability because people picture that her physically challenged as beggars.
She further explained that God has given her the ability to encourage people not to give up on their dreams.
