Highly-rated Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira is on the brink of sealing a summer switch to Premier League campaigners Arsenal, reports suggest.
According to sources at Tribal Football quoting Sky Italia, eggheads of both clubs have concluded terms over a transfer fee for the top Uruguay international, but the midfielder is now the only obstacle that may stop the deal from seeing the light of the day.
The 25 year-old Torreira's present contract at Samp has a €25m buyout clause which Gunners’ representatives are willing to accept.
Already, the Emirates side also tabled another option of about €30m, if they will be allowed to pay the agreed sum across two instalments in two year.
On the other hand, Arsenal and Uruguay international are yet to reach a final agreement over personal terms.
At the moment, the midfielder is asking for a fee which is regarded as too much by Arsenal’s representatives.
Hopefully, the deal will be sorted very soon as both parties want the switch to be completed, before the opening game of the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that new Arsenal coach Unai Emery has been told by the club supporters fans to make Emmanuel Eboue his first signing.
The 34-year-old has been through hard times since he left Sunderland in 2016, when a divorce left his wife, Aurelie, with all of their assets.
The Ivorian international has pulled on the famous red and white strip playing as part of an Arsenal legends match against Real Madrid legends at the Bernabeu.
