According to reports from the venue of the championship, the defender seems to have matched Mbappe's foot causing him distress, collapsing to the floor before receiving medical attention.

The PSG attacker before this minor injury is one of the attacking options for the French national team coach, Didier Deschamps, but with this new development, he might have to readjust his plans towards their opening group game.

Mbappe was impressive in all competitions for his French League side – helping them to win treble in the domestic scene but was unable to help them cross the round of 16 stage in the Champions League.

He has only spent one season at the Parc Des Princes and he has already got 13 goals in 27 appearances for the club.

The striker also made his national team debut in 2017 – and since then has netted four goals in 15 matches in the star-studded French squad.

Previously, NAIJ.com reported that the France international Kylian Mbappe has downplayed speculation linking his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar with a move to Real Madrid.

Neymar moved to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona in a world-record £198m deal last summer and became an instant hit in the French Ligue 1 with the Spanish giants lobbying for his signature.
