Children are the hope of the future and the values and principles they are taught are what they pass on to the next generation. Land of Hope Children Center decided to celebrate the World Day Against Child Labour on June 12 in their own special way.
The cute kids all posed in photos where they held up placards which read: 'Say no to child labour.' For many generations, child labour has been a big issue in Nigeria. Due to underdevelopment, many children are denied access to education and can be found on the streets either begging for alms or hawking goods.
The children at the Land of Hope Center in Eket took a stance to speak against such ills currently affecting millions of children in Nigeria.
The photos were shared on social media and many people found it relatable as the children hammered on the message of stopping child labour.
To celebrate the World Day Against Child Labour, here are photos of the children standing up for a just cause below:
The World Day Against Child Labour is an International Labour Organization-sanctioned holiday first launched in 2002 aiming to raise awareness and activism to prevent child labour.
