We are dumping APC - Nyako reveals talks with top politicians

- Abdul-Azeez Nyako says he, his father and some others were schemed out in the different congresses held in Adamawa state

- Senator Nyako says he met with Olusegun Obasanjo and had a talk with him concerning movement to the ADC

- He also reveals that he spoke with Kwankwaso who gave the hint of a new party

The senator Adamawa Central district, Abdul-Azeez Nyako, has revealed that he and others including his father, former governor Murtala Nyako, are set to quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) due to marginalisation.

Premium Times reports that Nyako said this when he addressed his supporters in Yola, alleging that they were completely marginalised in the recently held ward, local government and state congresses in Adamawa state.

According to him, his father, Murtala Nyako, lost control of his own ward in Mayo-Belwa local government.

The senator said the ongoing reconciliatory move between the APC leadership and aggrieved members of the New PDP was simply a ruse.

“We have no option than to go, but we are still discussing the party to move to with our entire structure.

“I have spoken with Prof Jerry Gana in SDP. I also spoke with Attahiru Bafarawa and fixed an appointment for him with Admiral Nyako. Bafarawa wants us to return to PDP.

“On Thursday, I went to Abeokuta and sat (down) with (former president) Obasanjo about ADC.

“He directed me to see Col Oyinlola who assured us that we will be absorbed with our structures if we join the party.

“I also spoke with Kwankwaso (former Kano governor) before the congresses,” he said adding that the former Kano governor spoke about a new party to come up soon.

“I was given the party’s constitution about a month ago, it’s a new party expected to be approved soon with four others by INEC,” Nyako said adding that he was happy they were leaving APC ‘before it’s too late’.

“We have done this before, when we left PDP to form APC and this time around by the grace of God, our movement will not be in vain,” he added.

Legit.ng earlier reported that several credible sources have disclosed that former prominent members of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013 may collectively move to another party on June 23.

According to the sources, the date June 23 is a symbolic one as it is the day the ruling party would hold its national convention to elect new leaders.
