2019: Anyone can beat Buhari - PDP presidential aspirant

- A presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Kabiru Turaki, has stated that anybody can defeat President Buhari in 2019

- He said the president is confused, and is being shielded from knowing what is really happening in the country

- Turaki chided the APC govt for failing in service-delivery; and opined that in 2019, Nigerians will ask Buhari to go and rest

Kabiru Turaki, a contender for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential ticket for the 2019 election, has stated that anyone can defeat President Muhammadu Buhari.

In an interview with Tribune, Turaki, who was a former minister of special duties under former President Goodluck Jonathan, described President Buhari as being ‘confused’.

Legit.ng gathers that he said Buhari’s advisers are not helping him; and are shielding him from finding out the true state of affairs in the country.

He stated: “Anybody can beat President Buhari. For one, President Buhari is confused. Let me use that with a lot of respect.

“Number two, his advisers are not helping him. He doesn’t even know what is happening because he will give instructions for critical members of his government to do one thing, they will do another. And they will also shield him from knowing what is happening.

“Number three, it’s about service delivery. What has President Buhari’s APC Federal Government done from 2015 to now? And I can give examples from my own area, the north-west zone.

“In the three states of Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara, not one project has been done by this federal government since inception. In Katsina, beyond the helipad which was built in Daura and the prison that is being built in Katsina, nothing is being done.

“In Kano, nothing has been done. In Kaduna, what has been done is to demolish people’s houses, to destroy people’s businesses, to visit a lot of pain, anguish and anger on Nigerian citizens living there.

“So, given the situation, most of the people that were President Buhari’s fanatical supporters and followers, have left him. I hope he knows that. I hope the people around him are not also shielding this one from him.

“So, if the incumbent president has not been able to meet the irreducible minimum expectation of Nigerians, then certainly, Nigerians will ask him to go and rest. And when you compare me against him, I’m bringing in a lot of dynamism, and that is what is needed; also, a lot of action.

“Nigerians are tired of talk, Nigerians want people to act the talk; and that, I will bring.”

This development comes following a previous report by Legit.ng, that the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, stated that any candidate the opposition party fields for the 2019 presidential election would defeat President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking in Abuja, the nation’s capital, the PDP chairman opined that there is no way Nigerians would give their votes to Buhari in 2019; as the present administration had failed to deliver majority of its promises.

Secondus listed economic recession, high rate of unemployment, insecurity, high cost of living, daily job losses, and lopsided anti-corruption war as some of the problems the APC government had foisted on citizens.
