- Leader of the group Abdul Ghani says some politicians are behind the plot to cause the violence and implicate Dogara
- He said the violence is planned for Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local government areas, all under the constituency represented by the speaker
- He noted that the plot is similar to the recent alarm raised by Senate President Bukola Saraki
Some concerned stakeholders in Dass local government area of Bauchi have raised the alarm over an alleged plot to cause violence in the northern state and blame it on Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the group alleged that a serious plot is underway by some politicians to cause violence in the three local government areas of Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro which Dogara represents.
The politicians, it is said, would use hired thugs to cause trouble and hang the blame of the disorder on the neck of the Speaker in the bid to tarnish his political image.
Abdu Ghani, leader of the stakeholders revealed all these during a press briefing at Nigerian Union of Journalists secretariat on Sunday, June 17.
He said: “Top securities sources have informed us of series of meetings that were held between June 10 to June 12, 2018, in Jos and Abuja where they planned to hire political thugs who would unleash violence and then use it to incriminate the innocent Yakubu Dogara.”
Abdu Ghani added that “We had it on good authority that the plan is to burn the APC offices in the three LGAs of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa that make up the Federal constituency by the thugs and hang it on the Speaker.
"Once that is achieved, the Bauchi State APC chapter will then accuse the Speaker of sponsoring the attack and announce that it has dismissed the Speaker from the party and then formerly write a petition to the security agencies in which they will implicate the Speaker including some other condemned criminals.”
Abdu Ghani also alleged that the enemies of the speaker have also vowed to bring him down and do everything possible to stop him from returning to the National Assembly in 2019.
NAIJ.com reported recently that Dogara came under fire from his colleagues in the Bauchi chapter of the APC.
Three chieftains of the party have criticised Yakubu Dogara for his alleged involvement in the plot to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.
The politicians, Haruna Rikaya, Wakili Amadi and Zubairu Musa addressed a joint press conference at the NUJ secretariat in Bauchi state.
The trio described Dogara's act as a selfish one that is not in the interest of the constituents he's representing at the House of Representatives.
