He told Le Soir just a few months ago: "Eden rejected extending his contract with Chelsea so that, when it comes, he can consider the interest of Real Madrid, where he'd fit in well."
Chelsea missed out on the top four and will play in the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri next term.
Real have long been linked with a move for Hazard, and the former Lille man has made no secret of his interest in making the switch.
