Army arrests 2 suspected Boko Haram fuel suppliers

- Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 301 Artillery Regiment have arrested two suspected Boko Haram fuel suppliers

- The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authority for prosecution

- Members of the public have been advised to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agency

Two suspected fuel suppliers for the Boko Haram terrorist group have been arrested by troops of the Nigerian Army.

The development was made public in a statement signed by the director of Army public relations, Brig Gen Texas Chukwu, and posted on Facebook.

Legit.ng notes that the suspects are currently being interrogated and will be handed over to the appropriate authority for prosecution, afterwards.

The statement read: “Troops of 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) have arrested two suspected Boko Haram fuel suppliers in Nafada, Gombe state.

“The two suspects are one Mohammed Adamu Zika, a driver and Bukar Adamu Haji, assistant station manager in one of the fuel stations in Gombe state, while another accomplice is at large. Efforts to get him arrested have been intensified by the troops.

“The two suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authority for prosecution.

“It would be recalled that all fuel stations within Nafada general area were warned against selling large quantities of fuel to motorists.

“Members of the general public are once more reminded to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agency for prompt action.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Senator Ali Ndume identified two spots from which he said Boko Haram terrorists operate in Borno state.

While reacting to the killings in the outskirts of Damboa town in Damboa local government area of Borno state, Ndume who gave the name of the locations as the Damboa/Gwoza/ Chibok axis and the lake chad axis, urged the military to intensify action on the two locations.
