- But this has been delayed as former chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, has reportedly pleaded for more time to finalise the handover note
- A source disclosed that Oshiomhole will resume on Tuesdya when the handover note is ready
Following the swearing in of Adams Oshiomhole as newly elected national chairman of the APC, there are a lot of postulations that he would no longer resume duty on Monday, June 25.
The Nation reports that it is due to an appeal by the former chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, that the hand over note was not ready.
NAIJ.com gathered that Oshiomhole had announced on Sunday, June 24, that he will be resuming at the national Secretariat on Monday, June 25.
It was learnt that Campaign posters that littered the Secretariat before the election has disappeared, while congratulatory banners taken over.
A source within the party said: “Oshiomhole is anxious to resume. But the hand over note is not ready yet. The former chairman pleaded that he be given till the end of today to finalise the hand over note. So, Oshiomhole will not be coming to the Secretariat today again. He will be here tomorrow when the hand over would be done.”
It was however gathered that Oshiomhole held a closed door meeting with some APC governors at his residence in readiness for the task ahead.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Oshiomhole was sworn in as the APC national chairman at the Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the party’s convention.
The returning national secretary of the party, Mai Mala Buni, was also inaugurated by the minister of justice, Abubakar Malami.
