Three persons have been confirmed dead while several others sustained various degrees of injuries in Delta state, Vanguard reports.
According to the report, the violence was sparked by a leadership tussle at the Express Junction motor park in Udu local government area of the state on Tuesday, June 26.
Confirming the incident, vice chairman of the council area, Justice Iyasere said, the incident which started in the early hours of Tuesday resulted to the death of three persons while others are currently in an undisclosed hospital receiving medical attention.
His words: “For now, calm has been restored to the area as the police and soldiers have been mobilized to the area.”

Meanwhile, indigenes of Bilabiri 1 community in Ekeremor local council of Bayelsa state have fled their homes over fear of military invasion, following the attack on Tunu flow-station and the subsequent killing of three soldiers in a bloody shoot-out.
Many of the locals have taken refuge in the forests and neighbouring communities in the area, while schools and other economic and social activities have also been forced to shut down just as the community has been deserted by the people.
