2019: Ohanaeze denies endorsing Atiku

- The pan-Igbo social cultural group has denied endorsing Atiku Abubakar for presidency in 2019

- The leadership of Ohanaeze said endorsing Atiku would mean the group has become involved in partisan politics

- The group also said that such endorsement would be a disgrace to Igbos

Ohanaeze Ndigbo has denied claims that the group endorsed the former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, for the forthcoming presidential election.

The leadership of the group while speaking in Bayelsa on Sunday, July 8, said Ohanaeze did not endorse Atiku or any other politician ahead of the 2019 general election.

The caretaker chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Bayelsa, Nkem Mark, said such moves would be against the objectives of the pan-Igbo socio cultural group.

Mark describing the alleged endorsement as a disgrace to Igbos said the group would not be involved in partisan politics.

According to Mark, those that purportedly endorsed Atiku when the PDP was yet to pick its presidential candidate are impostors and political jobbers. He alleged that such individuals' sole aim remained monetary gains.
