5 portraits by the 11-year-old prodigy artist who painted French president

Kareem Waris Olamilekan has begun to get worldwide recognition after he received outstanding praises from the French president, Emmaneul Macron.

President Macron had visited Nigeria and toured the Afrikan Shrine on Tuesday, July 3. It was during his visit that the president came across a portrait of himself painted by the 11-year-old prodigy artist in two hours.

The young prodigy who is inspired by the works of famous artists such as Michelangelo and portraitist Arinze Stanley Egbengwu, paints potraits of people who inspire him.

11-year-old Olamilekan has a makeshift studio in Lagos state, where he creates his art pieces. He has created incredible portraits of notable Nigerian figures, family members and his friends.

He mostly uses pencil to create most of his art but he occassionally uses ballpoint pen, paint and pastels.

Olamilekan who attends the local Ayowole Academy of Art. The school was created by graduate art student Adeniyi Adewole.
