Suspect: I didn’t kill ex-Ondo deputy governor’s daughter

- The suspect, Alao Adeyemi, in the killing of Khadijat Oluboyo has denied any involvement in the crime

- Adeyemi said two other people were involved in the killing of the ex-deputy governor of Ondo state's daughter

- According to him, he only provided the tool used to dig a grave for the deceased

The prime suspect in the killing of the daughter of a former deputy governor of Ondo state, has denied his involvement in the alleged crime.

Alao Adeyemi said he was not directly involved in the killing of Khadijat Oluboyo.

Speaking while he was being paraded by the Ondo state police command, Adeyemi said although he was a Yahoo-Yahoo boy (internet fraudster), there were two accomplices to the crime.

Punch reports that he said Khadijat was killed by the two accomplices who were brought to his house by the deceased.

He also said he only provided the tool used to dig a grave after the death of Khadijat.

Adeyemi said: “I only provided the digger that was used to dig the grave inside my room where the deceased was buried. But Khadijat was not killed for ritual purpose.”

Also speaking on the matter, the Police on Wednesday, July 11, said two other persons had yet to be identified in the killing of the deceased, who was a 400-level student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko.

The spokesperson for the Ondo state police command in Akure, Femi Joseph, said the two accomplices fled after the crime.

“The command received an information that Adeyemi, 27, who was Khadijat’s boyfriend, had allegedly killed her and was about to dispose of her corpse.

"The police immediately swooped on him and on close observation of his residence, it was discovered that the suspect had actually buried the girl, who had been missing for six days.

“He was actually planning to exhume the remains and finally dispose them of because, according to him, he was not comfortable with the stench coming from the decomposed body as it was not properly buried," the police spokesperson added.

Joseph also noted that the suspect would be charged to court soon while the hunt for the two accomplices would continue.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Khadijat was found dead at her boyfriend’s house in Akure on Sunday, July 8.

She was found dead in her boyfriend’s house, Adeyemi Alao, popularly known as Q.S. As at the time Khadijat's body was found, the suspect had already buried her in a corner of his room in Akure.
