In preparation for Ekiti state governorship election coming up on Saturday, July 14, security personnel are already stationed at the state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Some policemen are also seen being dispatched to several parts of the state. INEC officers have also started distributing kits to election observers while they await other election materials.

Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations, Habilal Joshak, said security detail attached to all important personalities will be withdrawn before Saturday, July 14’s governorship election in Ekiti state.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, July 11, Joshak said the withdrawal would enhance the credibility of the election.
He said the security detail of Governor Ayo Fayose, Kayode Fayemi and other affected personalities had been informed of the necessity and they would be required to report to the state police headquarters by 6 am on Saturday, July 14.
The DIG said he would work with one Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG), H.H. Karma and three Commissioners of Police (CP); Ali Janga, J.B. Kokumo and G.B. Umar, who would man each of the senatorial districts in the state.
