APC may not win Osun governorship election - Aregbesola’s SSG reportedly declares

- Moshood Adeoti says any plan to endorse any of the aspirants would make the APC lose the forthcoming Osun governorship election

- Adeoti, the current SSG in Osun, wants the APC to consider an unwritten zoning principle

- He says he is not aware that Aregbesola has anointed his chief of staff as APC governorship candidate in the election

The Secretary to the Osun state Government (SSG), Moshood Adeoti, has reportedly declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could lose the September 22 governorship election if any of the aspirants is endorsed for the job.

Adeoti, who is also vying to become the governor of the state, said anything that makes the party jettisons the conventional rule of zoning would make it lose the election.

This Day reports that Adeoti, a native of Iwo local government area of Osun West Senatorial district, stated this in Abuja when he visited the party’s national secretariat.

Adeoti denied knowledge of the report that Aregbesola had endorsed his chief of staff, Adegboyega Oyetola. He warned that the APC may get it wrong if that happens.

“Let me tell you, I am hearing that for the first time. I am saying it emphatically that if that one should happen in that state, may God forbid bad thing; we are going to get it wrong.

“Simply because of the fact that even, when they are saying that there is no zoning in our constitution, I believe that indirectly, we have zoning.

“When we started in 1999; it was Baba Akande that spent four years there from Osun Central Senatorial district and when Oyinlola took over from the same Osun Central Senatorial district, it was because both of them came from different constituencies.

“Baba Akande came from Ila federal constituency, Oyinlola came from Ifelodun/Boripe/ Odo-Otin local government,” he argued.

According to him, both of them were from the central adding that they spent cumulatively 11 and half years.
