FIFA president Infantino says Amaju Pinnick remains Nigeria Football Federation boss

- Gianni Infantino reiterates that Amaju Pinnick is the Nigeria Football Federation president FIFA recognises

- He further stated that attempts to unseat him without due process will attract severe sanctions from the world football governing body

- Pinnick is currently in Russia on official capacity for FIFA

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has branded Amaju Pinnick as the only recognised head of the Nigeria Football Federation.

The world football governing body boss further stated that the country will be banned from all football related acticivities should he (Pinnick) be removed by any civil court rulling.

But his emergence as the country's FA president wasn't pleasing to the chairman of Giwa FC, Chris Giwa - whose election into the same office was not recognised.

Earlier this month, Giwa took over activities of the Glass House in Abuja, saying the Supreme Court on June 5 had nullified the parallel election held in Warri by the former chairman, Amaju Pinnick, and upheld him as the chairman.

Also, the sports minister Solomon Dalung was reported to have advised Pinnick to obey the rullings of the court and step down from his position.

Although, the case has been adjourned till September 25, FIFA will be expecting full compliance from Nigeria in a bid to avoid the body's hammer.

Nigeria took part of the 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup in Russia but crashed out of the championship at the very early stage.

They have the African qualification at hand, and a ban for them will see another country take their place as the race for the 2019 AFCON tourney has commenced.

"Nigeria Football Federation has a president, his name is Pinnick, he has been elected and we have been very clear about that a long time ago.

"I've heard that this issue came up again, but the situation is very clear, we have statues, we have regulations that there can not be any interference in the running of the association.

"And for this reason, Pinnick is working here on official capacity. He is the president recognised by FIFA and elected by members of the NFF congress and that is the end of the story.

"But if any external bodies feel they can change the situation, of course Nigeria risks being banned like it happened in other countries because we have democratic processes and they just need to respect it."

Legit.ng earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly in support of the Court's ruling that axed Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) boss Amaju Pinnick from office.

The Sun reports that the 75-year-old is also aware of the directive the Sports Minister Solomon Dalung gave the NFF board under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick this week to leave the NFF office.

The report added that Sports Minister Solomon Dalung made the directive public after receiving the approval from President Buhari before directing Amaju led NFF board to leave the glass house in Abuja.
