Helicopter allegedly lands in Ekiti Government House with cash for vote-buying

A helicopter has reportedly landed at the new Government House, Ayoba Villa, Ado-Ekiti ahead of the Ekiti gubernatorial election.

According to The Nation, the helicopter landed at the Government House on Friday, July 13.

It was alleged that the helicopter which was reportedly full of cash was sent by a south-south governor.

Following the landing of the helicopter, it was reported that members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) started trooping to the Government House to collect money.

A female member of the PDP was reportedly seen complaining that she was not given her share.

She said: “They have not been given my own why some have been given twice. Anyone that collects this money and vote against Eleka shall not live to spend this money."

Meanwhile, the Women Arise for Change Initiative (WA), has said that the Ekiti state 2018 gubernatorial election is a litmus test for the 2019 general elections and all eyes globally will be on the state.

Legit.ng reports that Joe Okei-Odumakin, who is the president of women arise, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, July 13, in Lagos that it was critical that security agencies support INEC in the conduct of a free, fair and credible election in the state.

Women Arise for Change Initiative (WA) is one of the 54 election observation groups accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to observe the 2018 Ekiti election on Saturday, July 14.
