Civil servants allegedly receive N3,000 credit alert from Ekiti state government

Ahead of the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti state, civil servants on Friday, July 13, allegedly started receiving cash deposit alert of N3,000 as stipend from the Ekiti state government.

According to a Twitter user identified as @cbngov_Akin1 and another Facebook user, Maiyegun's Diary Live, Governor Ayo Fayose allegedly credited the account of workers in the state, to encourage them to vote in Saturday’s elections.

It was also alleged that Fayose last paid Ekiti state civil servants their salaries in December 2017.

In a previous report by Legit.ng, the candidates of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Independent Democrats (ID), Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) and Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) were on Thursday, July 12, divided over the adoption of state police as part of the restructuring of the country.

The candidates, namely Agboola Olaniyi, Tosin Ajibade, Afe Babatunde, and Temitope Adebayo respectively, were at opposing points as they answered questions at the first segment of the Ekiti governorship debate held at Damlek event hall in Ado Ekiti.

The debate was put together by a television station, TVC, in collaboration with a civic group, Enough is Enough (EiE), to allow the candidates explain their programmes to voters.
