- Jose Mourinho ready to cash-in on AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci
- The Italy international has been reportedly put up for sale by the San Siro club
- Milan are currently in financial crises after finishing sixth in Serie A last term
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is lining up a £30m move for Leonardo Bonucci as United plan to take advantage of AC Milan’s money troubles.
The cash-strapped Italian giants need to sell some star assets this summer after a sixth-place finish last season as Milan have to raise around £45m before the transfer window shuts.
And as a result, the Red Devils manager is keen on swooping for the vastly experienced Italy international Bonucci.
United are in the market for a top centre-half, having pursued Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
According to the Daily Express, the former Inter Milan manager, who knows Bonucci from his time in Serie A, intends to make a £30m bid.
The 31-year-old central defender has only been at the San Siro for one season after quitting Juventus last summer.
However, Milan’s below par campaign after a £150m spending on new signings means their options are now limited.
The Daily Express also added that Milan are willing to part with Bonucci to help raise funds for the club.
United, subsequently, could land the experienced defender to bolster their ranks ahead of the 2018/19 campaign after rival Chelsea failed last season.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City's Harry Maguire this summer.
The Red Devils managers have signed a few players during this summer transfer window but still needed to strengthen his backline.
