This is coming hours after Dr Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Democratic Party (APC) won the Ekiti state gubernatorial elections.

The former minister defeated Professor Olusola Eleka, the current deputy governor of Ekiti state and the anointed candidate of Governor Ayodele Fayose. From the results of the 16 local government areas in the state, Fayemi defeated Prof. Kolapo Olusola in 12 LGAs.

In 2006, EFCC had embarked on a comprehensive investigation, which indicted Ayodele Fayose and Biodun Olujinmi, the former deputy governor.

Results of the investigation revealed that between December 2003 and December 2005, the executive governor of Ekiti state, without due process, engaged Biological Concept, managed by one Gbenga James, his personal friend, on the pretext of establishing an integrated poultry farm in the state.

Through this project, the sum of N855 million was withdrawn from the account of the state government.

In a previous report by Legit.ng, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s national commissioner, Amina Zakari, responded to the allegations of Governor Ayodele Fayose that she was trying to use her office to rig the polls.

Zakari demanded a public apology from Fayose within a space of two days.

Ubong Akpan Chambers, Zakari's lawyer, said in a letter that Fayose’s accusation that she worked with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kayode Fayemi, the winner of the 2018 Ekiti governorship election, has been injurious to her health, career and public reputation.
