French star Paul Pogba mocked England by singing "footballs coming home" as les Blues were celebrating the World Cup silverware.

The chant was made popular by the English fans until the Three Lions bowed out of the tournament in the semi-finals.

And the French international took the opportunity to ridicule the Three Lions after France’s Les Bleus beat Croatia’s Blazers 4-2 to cart home the trophy for the second time in history.

While dancing with the World Cup trophy, Pogba said: "It's coming home."

The Manchester United ace soon became fully aware of his mistake and apologised as he looked at the camera gracefully.

But after being urged to "do what he likes" by another French star, Pogba repeated the chant once more.

However, after passing the trophy to another colleague the French midfielder took to his Instagram live handle to apologise to his viewers.

"Just kidding, just kidding, sorry. Just kidding, sorry,” Pogba said.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that France have emerged champions of world again as they recorded a 4-2 victory over Croatia in the Russia 2018 World Cup final.

Mario Mandzukic scored an own goal to put France ahead in the match but Ivan Perisic leveled matters a few minutes later with a bullet of a shot. Then, Antoine Griezmann converted from the penalty spot to give France the lead after the VAR had adjudged Perisic to have handled the ball in the box.

France went into half time with a 2-1 lead as they had the advantage going into the second 45 minutes.

The second half was also a feast of goals for both sides as Paul Pogba made it 3-1 to France after his first shot was blocked but wasted not time to convert on the second attempt. France were not done as their 19-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe shot from outside the 18-yard box which beat Subasic in goal which put the match at 4-1.

Hugo Lloris committed a hauler in the 69th minute as he gifted the ball to Mandzukic who tapped into an empty net to make the score 4-2.
