Ex-lawmaker blasts coalition of political parties, boasts of APC victory in 2019

- An ex-lawmaker has boasted that no political party can stop the APC at the centre in 2019 general elections

- Godwin Orton says the recent coalition which is being spearheaded by the PDP cannot defeat Buhari in the forthcoming elections

- He says President Buhari is a messiah whose coming has salvaged Nigeria from total collapse

A former member of Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly and an aspirant for Eket federal constituency into the House of Representatives in 2019 general elections, Godwin Orton, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot be defeated at the centre in 2019.

The ex-lawmaker on Saturday, July 14, said that no amount of gang-up by political parties in the country can wrestle power from the APC at the centre, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that Orton described the coalition, which is being spearheaded by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as futile.

According to him, the coalition is being controlled by a few powerful individuals who have some skeletons in their cupboard.

He said: “The economy, under President Buhari, has come out of recession and is heading towards stability and in the next few years, locally-produced rice will be exported to other African countries.”

According to him, Judging from how things were in the country before the 2015 general elections, President Buhari is a messiah whose coming has salvaged Nigeria from total collapse.

He added: “Insecurity is a global problem but the present security situation in some parts of the north will be surmountable as the federal government will soon catch up with sponsors of the mayhem."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the spokesperson for the Buhari campaign organisation, Festus Keyamo, said that the over 30 political groups which signed a pact with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had ended up losing their rights and identities.

He described the coalition as pure deceit and laughable desperation, adding: “Some political parties made up of just husbands and wives have signed an MOU with the PDP to form a ‘grand coalition’ against PMB in 2019."
