The Ondo state police command has arraigned Alao Adeyemi, the prime suspect in the killing of the daughter of a former deputy governor of the state, Lasisi Oluboyo.
Adeyemi was arraigned before the Akure magistrates court in Ondo for the killing of Khadijat Oluboyo, a 400-level student of Educational Management at the Adekunle Ajasin University in his room.
Punch reports that the accused was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.
The charges against Adeyemi read: “That you, Seidu Sakiru, 27, and others at large on July 2, 2018, at about 7.30 pm on Aratusin Street, Oke-Aro, Akure, did conspire with one another to commit felony to wit; murder, contrary to Section 324 of the Law of Ondo State, 2006.
“That you Seidu Sakiru, 27, did kill one Khadijat Oluboyo, 25, by strangling her and thereafter buried her inside your room contrary to Section 316, Law of Ondo State, 2006.”
At the arraignment, the police prosecutor, Sergeant May Adebayo, informed the court of an application to remand the defendant in custody pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions.
However, Taiwo Gbadebo, did not object to the application by the prosecution.
Having heard of the counsels on the matter, the chief magistrate, Victoria Bob-Manuel, ordered that Adeyemi be remanded in custody pending when the legal advice would come from the DPP.
She also adjourned the case till Thursday, August 23, 2018.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Adeyemi said he killed Khadijat to become wealthy in seven days.
Adeyemi also said that although he was not directly involved in the killing of the daughter to the former deputy governor of Ondo state, he provided the tool used in digging her grave.
He said he was supposed to become very rich after seven days of killing the deceased.
