Reports reaching NAIJ.com indicates that an attack is currently ongoing at Malikawa village in Gidan Goga district in Maradun local government of Zamfara state.
This was disclosed in a series of tweets by Amnesty International Nigeria, adding that the gunmen entered the village and started shooting.
The attack in Malikawa village is coming five days after the armed bandits sacked seven villages under Gidan Goga district of Zamfara state.
Residents of the area live in fear of armed bandits who kill or kidnap for ransom. Gidan Goga and surrounding villages of Maradun local government area in Zamfara state live perpetually in fear of armed bandits.
There was no road to the village. Fear of bandits compelled young men to abandon their farms and spend their days pensively under trees.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the Zamfara state police command, on Sunday, May 27, confirmed the death of seven persons in an attack by gunmen of Gidan-Labbo village in Gidan-Goga district of Maradun local government area of the state.

The public relations officer of the Command, DSP Muhammad Shehu, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau.
He said the unidentified bandits on Friday attacked people of Gidan Labbo village at Malikawa Forest while the victims were clearing their farm lands to prepare for this year’s rainy season.
