Interestingly, Zidane’s new role at Juventus comes less than 24-hours after Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled by the Turin-based outfit.

Zidane alongside Ronaldo were members of the Los Blancos squad that won a triple consecutive UEFA Champions League crown in May.

The former Galaticos boss was appointed by the La Liga side in January 2016 and was at the helms of affairs within the seasons’ Real Madrid dominated European football.

The ex-Les Blues midfielder left his job at the Santiago Bernabeu in May, citing fatigue, and was later replaced by La Roja’s former coach Julen Lopetegui.

Juventus legend

The Frenchman’s switch to Juventus is definitely not a surprise, after taking into account his previous stay at Turin with the Serie A side in his active days.

The ex-Galaticos star midfielder enjoyed five seasons at the Old Lady before Real Madrid slashed a record transfer sum of €77.5m in 2001 to take him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Zidane left after claiming two Serie A titles but never won the the UEFA Champions League with Juventus.

Pressure on Allegri

The Frenchman’s arrival at Turin is expected to pile pressure on Old lady’s boss Max Allegri to deliver the Champions League silverware this campaign.

Since the Italian took over from Antonio Conte in 2014, he has succeeded in winning the domestic in each of his four seasons at Juventus as well as reaching two Champions League finals.
