Woman warns parents over alleged vaccination of babies with expired medіcation

- A Nigerian mother identified as Awar Elfreda has accused the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo state, of administering an expired vaccine to her son on July 11, 2018

- According to her, she took her son to the hospital for Penta Vaccine, only to find that the medications were expired

- A Nigerian digital journalist, Ore Afolayan, shared the details on social media, advising other parents to be careful

A Nigerian mother identified as Awar Elfreda has called the attention of social media users to details of a recent experience at University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo state. The details were shared by Twitter user, Ore Afolayan, according to the digital journalist, the parent took the right step towards getting her son injected with the Penta Vaccine only to find that the nurses almost injected her baby with expired med*cation.

He shared details of the experience on Twitter, while calling the attention of parents to the possibility that their children might have suffered an ill-fate if they had been at UCH at the stipulated time.

Ore revealed that Awar took her son to the hospital on July 11, and was the last on the queue as it got to her turn, she held her little boy down for the Penta Vaccine injection only to notice that the expiring date stated June 18.

Upon questioning the medical officers, they claimed it had a shelf life of six months and she could go elsewhere if she didn't want it. They later brought out another set, which they all saw was expired too. She warned parents to be vigilant when they go to hospitals for treatments.
