- The Delta state senator was named in a committee by the party
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has been named as a member of APC’s 5-man committee to conduct the Osun governorship primary election for the party.
The committee was inaugurated in Abuja by the national chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday, July 17.
The controversial senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, announced this via his Twitter page on Wednesday, July 18.
Senator Omo-Agege's appointment is coming barely a week after the National Assembly made moves to suspend him.
Three months ago, Omo-Agege led thugs into the chamber of the Senate, to steal the upper house symbol of authority, the mace.
He recently said that his colleagues in the Senate and House of Representatives do not have the power to suspend him, adding that the move by members of the legislature to sanction him is the same as attacking the people of Urhobo, his homeland.
“The House of Representatives or the Senate or indeed any legislative arm do not have the power to suspend any sitting senator or member of the House of Representatives,” he told his supporters in Delta state
