Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and some governors have commenced the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting to resolve the controversial issue of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
The meeting being held at the presidential villa is attended by the governors of Katsina, Sokoto, Ogun, Kebbi and some deputy governors in attendance.
Also in attendance are top government functionaries including the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele; the group managing director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru; among others.
At the end of the meeting, State House reporters would be briefed on the outcome of the meeting.

The deadlock in the meeting of FAAC and the issue of national minimum wage were some of the troubling issues that occupied Nigerian governors meeting on Wednesday, July 18.
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) met in Abuja to discuss the June monthly meeting of FAAC in Abuja which ended in a deadlock.
The FAAC monthly meeting is the forum where money is shared among the federal, states and local governments.
