President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, July 19 received the Ekiti state governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi.
According to President Buhari’s personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad, Fayemi was accompanied by the governors of Kebbi and Ogun states, Abubakar Bagudu and Ibikunle Amosun respectively.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported President Buhari congratulated the candidate of the APC in the Ekiti gubernatorial election, Fayemi, for his victory at the July 14 polls.
In a statement by Femi Adesina who is the special adviser to the president on media and publicity on Sunday, July 15, the president described it as a victory for democracy.
He thanked the APC for its effort in winning the Ekiti election and said the people have spoken loud and clear.
In a related development, a chieftain of the APC, Orji Uzor Kalu congratulated Fayemi after wining the election which took place on Saturday, July 14.
In the same vein. Festus Keyamo, Buhari 2019 campaign DG also hailed the election of Fayemi.
Keyamo said the result showed that the PDP's tactics of using the farmers-herders' dispute to scare voters from the APC was a failure.
Fayemi reportedly polled 197,459 votes as against his closest rival, Kolapo Olusola of the Peoples Democratic Party who had 178,121 votes.
In a tweet on Sunday, July 15, both the former governor of Abia and Keyamo said it was good that Ekiti has connected to the centre again.
