Brazil’s superstar Neymar believes Cristiano Ronaldo's switch to Serie A champions Juventus will help revive feelings towards Italian football, a UK Mirror report suggests.
The Portuguese star sealed a £88 million move to Turin on Monday, ending his nine seasons stay at Los Blancos
The 33-year-old forward netted a record breaking 450 times in 438 games for Galaticos, claiming the UEFA Champions League trophy four times.
However, Paris-Saint Germain forward Neymar who has battled the Portuguese severally in El Clasico games during his stay at the Nou Camp is full of praise for the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner stressing that the move will bring a new life to the round leather game in Italy.
"I think Cristiano Ronaldo will change Italian football," Neymar was quoted as saying to Fox Sports in Sao Paulo, where he equally downplayed a potential switch to the Los Blancos.
"It will again be the Italian football that I watched when I was a child because Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player.
"He is a legend in football, a genius.
"I'm happy for his decision.
"I think it is a difficult decision for him so I wish him good luck but not against Paris."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Neymar has reportedly confirmed that he will stay back at his Paris Saint Germain next season.
The former Barcelona forward has been heavily linked with a mega move to Real Madrid this summer.
But the 26-year-old has come out to end the speculations about his future saying he will stay back at the club he joined in the summer of 2017.
