- Chelsea and Manchester United are both monitoring the situation of want-away Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara
- The midfielder joined the Bavarians in 2013 under former manager Pep Guardiola and has grown to become one of their key players
- He has five Bundesliga titles to his credit and his current contract with the club expires in the summer of 2021
Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara this summer.
Both teams are not done doing business in the transfer window as they have made inquiry over the Spanish midfielder, who looks set to dump the German League side before the start of a new season.
Meanwhile the Bavarians might not want to sell the 27-year-old whose contract with the club expires in the summer of 2021.
He joined them in 2017 and has won five Bundesliga titles in since he became a Bavarian but might be seeking fresh challenge away from the German champions this summer.
Tribal Football citing ESPN however reports that the above mentioned clubs are the only ones with strong interests for the player as his value has risen to about £62 million.
With less than 20 days to the start of a new season, the two clubs are looking to strengthen their squads to challenge Manchester City for the title this season.
Chelsea hired Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte's replacement and made one high-profile signing with midfielder Jorginho arriving from Napoli to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho isn't satisfied yet with his signings after bringing 19-year-old defender Diogo Dalot from Porto and Brazil international midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
He is also interested in Toni Kroos from Real Madrid according to report from the Spanish capital with Los Blancos asking for a fee around 120 million pounds.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Spanish League giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are battling for signature of Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara.
The 27-year-old star is currently in Russia with the Spanish national team, but his future appears unresolved at Bayern Munich.
Five years ago, Thiago Alcantara joined Bayern Munich from Barcelona for a reported fee of €25 million, and now the Catalan giants want the £60 million-rated player back at the Camp Nou.
