Emerging reports have it that some armed bandits along Birnin-Gwari Kaduna Highway, on Wednesday, July 24, ambushed a police vehicle on routine patrol, killing three personnel and burnt down their vehicle.
According to an eye witness,''The sad events occurred near Labi village territory under Birnin-Gwari local government area.
''On behalf of entire people of Birnin-Gwari and our association Birnin-Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good Governance, we extends our heartfelt condolences to the their families and the Nigerian Police Force for this irreparable loss.
''We equally like to commend all security agencies for the difficult task of uprooting acts of terrorism, armed banditry and Kidnappings along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highways as well as Birnin-Gwari-Funtua road and indeed the Kamuku forest.

''We are calling of all peace loving people of Birnin-Gwari to volunteer in assisting security agencies to unmasked all evil elements across our territory and also give accurate information on all hideouts of this criminals.''
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that some police officers hit the streets of Kaduna to protest the killing of two of their colleagues by some suspected bandits in Birnin-Gwari local government area of of the state.
The officers began the protest after the bodies of their dead colleague were recovered. While, protesting, the police officers shot sporadically into the air to register grievance over the continued loss of personnel to bandits in the state.
Unfortunately, a stray bullet from the protesting officers hit a widow while, other residents of the area were seen running helter-skelter for their lives. The women was pronounced dead.
