The story is not true - Kano Assembly debunks defection of APC members to PDP

The majority leader of Kano House of Assembly, Muhammad Bello Butu-butu, has debunked a report that majority of the members of the Assembly on the platform of the All progressives Congress (APC) decamped from the party.

Butu-Butu said the rumour was baseless, unfounded and the figment imagination of some mischievous people who wanted to cause confusion in the state.

He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a fake news being circulated on the social media that our APC members have defected to the PDP.

“The story is not true but a calculated attempt by some unpatriotic elements to cause confusion in the state."

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso's defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a surprise to members of the party, according to the speaker of the Kano House of Assembly, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Ata claimed Kwankswaso's exit was expected by the party and long overdue. He added that the senator's exit won't affect the party's victory in 2019.
