- President Buhari presided over the weekly FEC meeting at the State House
- Minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, was also present at the meeting
President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Wednesday, July 25, weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held at the Council Chambers, State House Abuja.
The meeting is coming a day after fourteen senators and thirty-seven (37) members of House of Representatives decamped from the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC).
However, the president has said the defection of majority of the lawmakers from his party has nothing to do with his government but rather with the individual problems with the party.
The ministers, including Kemi Adeosun, are all present at the July 25 FEC meeting.
Recall that Adeosun, who is the minister for finance, is currently embroiled in a certificate scandal after an investigative paper accused her of forging her NYSC exemption certificate.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that a House of Representatives member, Abdulrazak Atunwa, who with 36 others defected from All Progressive Congress (APC) on Tuesday, said more members would leave the party in the coming weeks.
Briefing newsmen in company with some of the defected members, who moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atunwa said that Tuesday, July 24, defection was just the first batch of members that would leave the APC.
He said that the public should expect more as many members had indicated interest to defect from the party.
