Gunmen have reportedly killed three policemen around Rumuigbo community in Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers state.
It was reported that the police officers whose guns were also taken away by the gunmen were shot dead on Wednesday, July 25, at a check point the local government.
The Sun reports that a community source who confirmed the killing said the police officers were on their stop and search duty when the gunmen attacked them.
It was also reported that the latest killing would bring the total number police personnel killed in the state by hoodlums within a month to eight.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that party faithfuls under the umbrella of Concerned Christians of Rivers state have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to end the rampant violence and killings that have ravaged the country.
A massive number of worshipers, on Sunday, July 22 embarked on a peaceful protest from the state Ecumenical centre, Abonnema Wharf Road to the Government House, Port Harcourt, with several placards with various inscriptions like ‘Mr. President stop the bloodshed,’ ‘Where is Leah Sharibu,’ ‘Stop burning our churches,’ among others.
