- Jose Mourinho is said to be furious at Anthony Martial for leaving the Red Devils' camp
- The attacker told his teammates he wanted to be with his partner as they welcome their new child
- He wants to leave the Old Trafford club this summer having failed to get playing time at the club
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning to offload Anthony Martial this summer.
The French star walked out of the Red Devils' preseason camp to be with his pregnant spouse Melanie Da Cruz, who is due for delivery soon.
And the gesture got the Portuguese tactician angry as it was not clear if the 22-year-old got the blessings of his manager to leave the camp.
Martial left United’s hotel in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, telling team-mates that he has no wish to return on tour following the birth.
The winger, who struggled for playing time last term is desperately looking for a way out of Old Trafford, as he has earlier told the club to allow him join another Premier League club this summer.
Mourinho seems to have declared the winger surplus to requirement as United will demand £80 million for a player who cost £36 million when he arrived from Monaco in 2015.
His career since the arrival of the former Real Madrid star has suffered a dramatic set back, with the Portuguese coach believing Martial lacks mental strength.
According to Dailymail, captain Antonio Valencia could miss the start of the season after suffering a calf muscle in Sunday’s goalless draw with San Jose Earthquakes.
Martial was part of United's team that battled Club America and San Jose and has been tipped to lead the club's attack in their Premier League opener against Leicester on August 10 due to the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford, who will not be match fit following the World Cup.
However, his decision to leave the camp and miss the Red Devils' remaining preseason matches against Liverpool and Real Madrid, will put that in some doubt.
Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid have other priorities this summer, while Bayern Munich would prefer to sign him in a year’s time.
Jose Mourinho's men kick off their 2018-19 EPL campaign against former champions Leicester City on August 10.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Manchester United striker Anthony Martial gave his agent the green light to get him a new club at the end of the ongoing Premier League season.
The Frenchman is said to be tired and frustrated with lack of active playing time this season at Old Trafford and wants to leave the Red Devils.
Anthony Martial has started just 16 matches this season despite making 28 appearances all round.
The arrival of Chile international Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford has also pushed the former Monaco man further down the pecking order.
