Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state have filed a law suit against Senator Ademola Adeleke, who recently won the party's governorship primary election.
The members alleged that Senator Adeleke does not have a primary school leaving certificate.
Channels TV reports that the members are praying to the court to grant an interim order to set aside results of the recently concluded election.
They are also asking the court to grant an order restraining the PDP from presenting Adeleke’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the September 22nd governorship poll.
Adeleke’s lawyer, Edmond Biri-Omoni, however, debunked these claims. While addressing journalists, Biri-Omoni insisted that Adeleke has a genuine primary school certificate.
The ruling on the case has been adjourned till Thursday, July 26, by Justice David Oladimeji.
