- Roma president is furious after La Liga side Barcelona hijacked their move for Malcom in the 11th hour
- The Brazilian was expected in Rome to seal a deal with Roma but the Spanish side took the forward to Camp Nou to pen a £45m deal
- Roma are now requesting Barcelona compensate them with their playmaker Lionel Messi
Serie A side Roma are requesting that Barcelona compensate them with Lionel Messi after the La Liga champions hijacked their move for Malcom, according to a UK Sun report.
The 21-year-old Malcom was at the airport waiting to board a private jet to Rome to pen a deal when Barcelona eggheads made a swift move.
The Brazilian instead headed to Spain to seal a stunning £45million deal to Nou Camp leaving hundreds of Roma supporters stranded at the Rome’s airport.
Eggheads of the Serie A club were so sure the deal would be sealed that the club’s official Twitter wrote: "AS Roma can confirm that the club has reached an agreement with Bordeaux for the transfer of Malcom, subject to the player completing a medical and agreeing personal terms."
Roma chief Jim Pallotta was very angry and suggested that he would not make up with the Spanish side unless they offer Lionel Messi as compensation for Malcom.
Reacting on the development while speaking to radio station Sirius XM, he opined: "There's no question that we had a deal with Malcom, then Barca jumped into the mix unethically and immorally. They knew this was done.
"I have zero problem battling it out for a player with Inter or Bayern or whoever and all of us going through the same process. That's the way it works.
"Sure some people say 'it wasn't signed'. That's bull****. We all know how it works. The kid comes in for the medical and the signing is done.
"Other teams know not to come in and do what Barca did. Bordeaux should have never been doing what they did. Their actions were ridiculous.
"For Bordeaux to come back and say 'Oh well, we didn't sign it...', well, they asked if they could put it on their website and tweet that he's going to Rome.
"Barcelona apologised about their actions and how they did things. I don't accept the apology at all.
"The only way I'll accept Barca's apology is if they send the player to us, and that's not going to happen.
"Maybe, as a goodwill gesture, the very least they could do is send us Messi."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira in a five year deal.
The Blaugrana beat Italian Seire A side AS Roma to the signing of the 21-year-old in a deal valued around £36.5 million with £900,000 in variables.
According to BBC, the Champions League semifinalists revealed earlier this week that they had reached an agreement with Bordeaux for the player but subject to a medical and personal terms.
