Former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s adopted political party, African Democratic Congress (ADC) has pledged that it would restore good governance to the people of Ogun state if it is elected in 2019 election.

Vanguard reports that while speaking through the party, the governorship aspirant in Ogun state, Gboyega Isiaka, stated this in Abeokuta during the grand finale of his tour to one of the largest federal constituencies in the state, Obafemi Owode, Odeda and Abeokuta north.

Legit.ng gathered that Isiaka applauded the massive turnout of party faithful and the general public that defied heavy rains and stood throughout the open air rally.

He said: “I appreciate the spirit of everyone here for standing in the rains. It is an uncommon display of support for our party and exhibition of strong will to establish a new narrative in our state. Even though I have moved around a lot in recent months, this is the first outing with the ADC as a gubernatorial aspirant on its platform.”

“Since Tuesday that we started this consultative tour, I have seen loud indices of underdevelopment across the local governments visited; It is shameful and sad. Things can be improved here, especially with the potentials around this areas. We are taking a good look at getting maximum benefits out of our closeness to Lagos.”

“Development of border towns is one of the seven main focus of the coming government; which we call 7 steps to Abundance. It is really bad that elected officials at various levels have abandoned their responsibilities to the people. The ADC administration under my watch will strengthen good governance at all levels.”

He added that with his manifesto and that of the ADC being in agreement, the party is well positioned to offer good governance to people, restore the dignity of citizens, wipe away the frustrations and poverty brought in by the current APC administration.

The front line aspirant was in company of his wife, Toyin Isiaka and many party chieftains.
